Cesar is the French equivalent of The Oscars. Of course, they will honour ‘The Artist’. They won six awards last night. That makes complete sense. After all, this French silent movie is deemed to sweep most of the Oscars on Sunday night.
Here’s Berenice Bejo and director Michel Hazanavicius
I love ‘The Artist’, it’s such a well-made, well-acted, feel good movie. But its winning streak confuses me a bit. It just grab all the awards, leaving no chance for others, except if you’re Queen Meryl Streep. Anyway, here are the usual faces, such as George Clooney and Brad Pitt, attending the BAFTAs in London. I guess by now, they already know that they have no chance of winning the best actor award at The Oscars. Jean Dujardin has already bagged it.
Jennifer Lawrence was chosen to read out the nominations. She looked beautiful and confident. As for the nominations, most of them were predictable but there are some surprises as well.
One of them was, who the hell is Damien Bechir? I had to google him to find out. He wasn’t even nominated for the Golden Globes. Or was he?
Also, Tilda Swinton was absent from the Best Actress list. And Rooney Mara is in? Really? I really enjoyed ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ but if anyone should get nominated because of that movie, it should be director David Fincher. And he was snubbed.
Ryan Gosling isn’t nominated. I guess this means he won’t attend the ceremony?
HUGO has the most nominations, followed by ‘The Artist’. I haven’t seen ‘The Artist’ but I can’t wait. As for ‘HUGO’, I love this movie to pieces. It’s absolutely gorgeous.
Are there really only 2 nominees for Original Songs? And one of them is from ‘The Muppets’?
Here’s a video of Jennifer, reading the nominations:
Anyway, here are the full list of Nominees:
Actor in a Leading Role
Demián Bichir in “A Better Life”
George Clooney in “The Descendants”
Jean Dujardin in “The Artist”
Gary Oldman in “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”
Brad Pitt in “Moneyball”
Wow…seems like the whole of Hollywood is there, except for the notably missing hunk Ryan Gosling. WTH is he???? Anyway, Tom Cruise and his family seem to be missing as well. As for the award, the highlight for me is Michelle Williams, Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep’s win. They’re like…my favourite actresses. I’m so excited for them. Natalie Portman looks AMAZING (after being absent from public eye for ages, she even looks more gorgeous than ever). Brad and Angelina are as gorgeous as ever.
Wow, this awards season are definitely in full gear now. Where’s Ryan Gosling, though? Anyway, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Emma Stone and Michelle Williams seem to be regulars to these awards. Michelle looks stunning here, but I also adore Evan Rachel Wood’s gown.
Michelle attends several functions during this awards season while looking her absolute best. I love the way she dresses, her pixie haircut…everything about her.
Seems like this award festival is loaded with young and upcoming actors. Emma Stone looks so gorgeous here. I wish Andrew Garfield was there as well.
Emma Stone
I guess the award season is truly starting. First, the Palm Springs Film Festival, and then next week, The Golden Globes. I’m not sure about the relevance of this award, but Brad Pitt and George Clooney are in attendence. So, I guess it’s pretty relevant.
I think the Awards season are beginning. I wonder which films will make it to The Oscars? I don’t think this is a great year for movies (compared to last year, at least) but I haven’t seen ‘Shame’, ‘Tyrannosaur’ or ‘Coriolanus’. By the way, Michael Fassbender and Vanessa Redgrave won best actor and actress. To read the full list of winners, please click here.
